Remember, back in the day when you got that high? No not that high, this is the “I grabbed my domain name before the other guy”.

What a rush that was to grab www.jerryhart.com, the name that you just had to own NOW!

Once you grabbed your name, then when you thought of a cool name you’d log back into GoDaddy or your favorite registar, and locked up your personal name or business name as a URL? Cool!

Twitter sort of gave that high again too, with that special opportunity to secure your precious name as part of your web address. www.twitter.com/jerryhart

Search is the new circulation – everything you do should be optimized for search. You may send out mass campaign emails
and those emails should be available online and optimized for search. People should be able to find it online. Think of all the benefits!

Keywords all over your message get noticed by Google helping you rise up the Google search stack for those keywords.

If someone can’t see images or they block them, this link “If you are unable to view this message properly, please click here”, is the first thing they see. Your eMail looks like X when you send it and it might look like Y when it is received by the recipient. Protect yourself and add a link at the top of your email template that directs to your website or blog.

Most common reason for people getting stuck on Facebook or Twitter by Jerry Hart

I can remember being trained all day in preparation to jump out of an airplane and had to repeat an exercise 58 times in a row so my brain would remember it. Now I want to ask you to repeat a sentence that will create a pattern like I did to jump from 30,000 feet.

Simply repeat this to yourself and I’ll explain why. Say this out loud with me please. “All these activities create a story that pushes out into your friends ‘News Feeds’ creating valuable visibility”

This week it really hit me and I realized what is the most common reason for people getting stuck on facebook or Twitter. When I really dig at people as to why they have no respect or understanding of the value of facebook or twitter here’s what I get.

1) it’s just too much
2) who has time to read all that nonsense
3) wow, it’s so exposing myself to the world
4) seems really juvenile or collegiate
5) I don’t get it

Like a bad song from Britney Spears you can’t get out of your head, my colleague, Joel Comm blogged and posted a really wierd post that trailed me all weekend. I found a Tweet that was totally whack! Do you see what is odd here? Now that you’ve looked at it more carefully, you’re not hallucinating. It’s a Tweet that is way more than 140 characters…how did that happen?
